These magnetic door switch sensors are already seen, if not – then in old movies for sure where they were used as anti-theft devices, ie. alarm systems. In fact, it is a magnet and the reed switch inside a pair. When they are close to each other (recommended 13mm or less), reed switch closes. Optocoupler 4N35 is a device that electrically (by light, not by electricity) separates the two parts of the circuit.
