For example, you connect a resistor on it and it will show it is a resistor and give you his value in ohms. same goes for capacitors and inductors. Give it NPN or PNP transistor it will hFE and Vf. For diodes, it will tell you its voltage drop and capacity. The most interesting is that the tool will know which component is connected.
